Every newborn session at Indo Irish Photography is led personally by Pravalika. She specialises in safe newborn posing and handling, so every wrap, every curly pose and every detail shot is done with your baby's safety as the first priority.
Pravalika creates a warm, unhurried home-studio environment where your baby feels completely settled. She manages temperature, follows feeding cues, and takes as much time as the baby needs. There is no fixed schedule; the session ends when we have everything, not when the clock says so.

Our newborn home-studio is kept at a consistently warm temperature throughout every session. Newborns cannot regulate their own body heat, so we take full responsibility for their comfort.
Every pose Pravalika uses is an approved, practised technique. No baby is placed in a position without proper spotting and safety. If a pose is not safe, it does not happen.
We never rush. If baby needs a feed, a nappy change, or twenty minutes of settling, we take that time. The session ends when we have everything we need, not before.
Your baby is never left unattended on a prop, beanbag, or raised surface. At least one pair of experienced hands is present at every moment of the session.
What to Expect
on the Day
Come whenever suits your schedule. Feed baby before or on arrival — a full, sleepy baby is ideal. Take your time settling in; we never start until everyone is relaxed.
Pravalika starts with classic wrapped poses while baby is in their deepest sleep — the curled newborn images you've probably seen and loved in other people's photos.
When baby is fully settled, we move to bare skin images and any prop setups — baskets, blankets, hats, or family heirlooms you bring along.
Gopi photographs you holding baby, parent close-ups, hand and foot details, and sibling portraits — in the same warm light as the rest of the session.
Your hand-edited gallery is delivered via a private online gallery, from 7–10 business days for Essential up to 2–3 weeks for Gold. High-resolution files with full print rights included.

- Best Age Days 5–14 after birth. Can accommodate up to 4 weeks with adjusted poses.
- Location Our dedicated newborn home-studio in Clondalkin, Seven Mills, Dublin. No travel charge.
- Duration 1.5 hours (Essential) or 2 hours (Family & Gold). We never rush; baby sets the pace.
- Includes Pravalika handles all posing, settling and swaddling while Gopi focuses on photography.
- Delivery Hand-edited photographs via private online gallery: 7–10 business days (Essential), 10–14 (Family), 2–3 weeks (Gold).
- When to Book During your 2nd trimester. We hold your spot and confirm dates after birth.
What to Bring
- Feeding Breast milk, formula, or bottles — bring enough for the full session plus extra.
- Nappies 6–8 nappies minimum. Accidents during bare shots are completely normal.
- Clothing A going-home outfit and a soft white or neutral outfit for family portraits.
- Props Sentimental items welcome — we supply all wraps, hats, blankets, and baskets.
- For Parents Wear solid neutral tones (white, cream, grey, sage). Avoid busy patterns.
- Siblings Bring siblings at the start of the session. We photograph them first, then let them relax.

Newborn FAQ
Days 5 to 14 after birth is the ideal window. Babies in this age range are still very sleepy, curl naturally into the classic newborn poses, and are at their most flexible. Sessions after 14 days are still possible — some poses change, but beautiful images are absolutely still achievable up to around 4 weeks.
Yes, and we recommend it. We hold your spot when you book during pregnancy, then confirm the exact session date after your baby arrives. Newborn sessions book out weeks in advance, especially in spring and autumn, so booking in your second trimester is ideal.
This is completely normal — and it's exactly why our sessions allow plenty of time with no fixed deadline. Pravalika is experienced in calming and settling newborns. We build in as many feeding breaks, rocking sessions, and settling pauses as the baby needs. We simply do not rush.
Yes, when carried out by a specialist. Pravalika specialises in safe newborn posing and handling, and every pose she uses is an established, practised technique. She never places a baby in a position that compromises their comfort or safety, never leaves them unattended, and keeps the home-studio warm throughout. Safety always comes before any image.
The number of hand-edited photographs depends on your package: 10 for Essential (baby only), 15 for Family, and up to 20 for Gold. Every image is individually hand-edited, never batch processed, across all the setups: wrapped, bare, props, parent portraits, sibling shots and detail close-ups. Additional edited photographs can be arranged after delivery.
Delivery depends on your package: 7–10 business days for Essential, 10–14 business days for Family, and 2–3 weeks for Gold. You receive a private online gallery link to download every image in full resolution, with full personal print rights and no additional fees to print your photographs.
Yes, twins are very welcome. Twin sessions take a little more time and preparation, so rather than a fixed package we put together a plan and a tailored quote for you. Get in touch with your due date and we will talk it through.
